He is a former president of the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, a Founding President of the Indian Academy of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry, and also a member of the Dental Council of India.
Dr. Mayekar was a professor at the New Jersey Dental School, and faculty for PG courses in Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of New York, Buffalo, USA.
